Patients With Disabilities

The practice tries to make all of our services accessible to patients with disabilities.

• Our surgeries at Pontycymmer and Bettws are accessible by wheelchair. Regrettably our surgery at Llangeinor does not have wheelchair access, and we would ask any patients in this area to visit one of the other two branches.
• Our practice leaflet is available in large print for patients with visual impairment.
• All other practice correspondence can be done in large print at request. Our standard font is Arial Size 14.
• At special request, we can make our practice leaflet available in spoken word on CD format.
• For patients with disabilities, we are happy to take requests for repeat prescription by telephone. This should be arranged by prior agreement with the surgery.
• For patients who are hard of hearing, we are happy to accept requests for ROUTINE appointments by e-mail, Cwmgarw.practice@wales.nhs.uk
• If you find difficulty understanding the doctor or nurse, or have difficulty in communicating, we are able to provide a staff member to sit in on your consultation, at your request.
